March 1,2007 will be another historical day for Saraswati Thapa as she is joining CARE Nepal from that day. She has been at Equal Access Nepal office since February 2005. I really enjoyed at Equal Access working with her as she was the coordinator of the project of peacebuilding and conflict transformation in which I have been working as radio program producer. As she is leaving on February 28, 2007, EA Nepal has organized a farewell party to say her goodbye and meanwhile some of the new member of Equal Access has been welcomed. During the event Michael Bosse, Directors of Project and Nirmal Rijal Country Manager, Equal Access Nepal gave their speech on Saraswati's work at EA as well as they wished her best of luck for the new job. In the meantime Saraswati Thapa expressed her thoughts on how she enjoyed working at EA. Here are some snapshots of the evening;

Equal Access Nepal has organized the stakeholder meeting for having the discussion over various agendas of running peacebuilding and conflict transformation radio project on February 20, 2007 at Kathmandu. The main objectives of the meeting were to share the experiences working in the field of conflict and peace. More than 50 people from different background and organizations has been taken part the meeting. Here are some pictures taken by Sushil Shreshtha of Equal Access Nepal .

Nearly 3,000 Maoist combatants of the Third Division camp of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) in Shaktihkor, Chitwan have left the cantonment site saying the government neglected their camp management.

According to radio reports, some Maoist combatants have started working at brick kilns and road construction works while some are in search of jobs.

They claim they were compelled to leave the cantonment as they did not have basic resources to live in the camps.

Nepal FM, a private FM station quoted Prabakhar, a deputy commander of the Maoist army, as saying that they are holding final talks with the government about the camp management today.

He further said that more PLA men will leave the cantonment in search of jobs.

He even warned that Maoists from all cantonment sites will be compelled to leave if the government did not make necessary arrangements for them.

Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal seems very much busier than before because most of the Maoist leaders these days in capital as well as civil society has engaged in the series of discussions on what Constituent Assembly is and how its process because by the end of July the CA for New Nepal will be held. Social healing is challenging rather than having critical CA election. So, from January 20 until 23, Institute for Conflict Management Peace and Development (ICPD), INSEC and Karuna Center for Peace building (KCP) USA have organized four days training cum workshop " Leadership in Social Healing: Conflict Transformation and Peace-Building" in Kathmandu. Around 2 dozens member of Civil Society have taken part in the program. That was the beginning of this kind of because other three training are in line during 2007. At the end of the last training that may be in October participants of first training would be able to covert themselves into as the Trainer of Peace-Building. Here are some photographs of training. Photos are taken by Francis and Binaya. We are happy since peace accord have been signed and interim parliament has been established. NO matter we are happy whether we should not be able to seek the way of happiness in everybody face. So social healing is necessary. Come together and work together. because this is the beginning of establishment of peace in the society.

Singer Sugam Pokharel and his wife Liza invited their parents, family member and relatives at their residence on Wedesday 17th of January 2007 on the occasion of their first baby's rice feeding ceremony. The auspicious time for feeding rice to new born baby was at around 9:30 until 11:00 on that day. At the end of the day a party has been organized in the Baneswor.
