These women and girls do not have their own citizenship certificate. They have been asked that why have they deprived of citizenship certificate then they said that their husband always said them why they need citizenship since they are living even whole day in house and involve household activities. Now the women and girls of this ethnic community located in Aourabani VDC 2 Gadhitol, Sunsari, are all aware of how citizenship certificate is important for them and they are going to District Administration Office (DAO) Sunsari in order to apply for the citizenship certificate.

Naya Nepal is the name of Radio Program produced by Equal Access Nepal. On may 31, 2006, Equal Access has started its peacebuilding and conflict transformation radio program on banner "Sundar Shanta Bishal" and it has changed its name to Naya Nepal since September. Now this program is broadcasting 'World Space Satellite Channel' in every Saturday and Wednesday at 7:30 hrs and same program repeat at 12:30 and 17:30 hrs respectively on same day over World Space. Naya Nepal focused on new and broad bigger themes such as Constituent Assembly, Restructure of the state, Inclusiveness etc. Radio Nepal broadcast this program in every Monday and Thursday at its morning show 8:30 hrs. In Equal Access FM network there are around 30 FM station across the country broadcast Naya Nepal radio program at preferred time through their stations.
Now we have completed the production and broadcast Naya Nepal's 61 episode and we are very excited hearing that this program is getting popular day by day in the community. I have posted here an example that you would see the impact of radio program in the community. December 8, 9 and 10 the training or workshop titled as Training on 'Nepal in Transition The Role of Civil Society in fostering a New Civic Identity, and a Constructive Constituent Assembly Process' was being held in Ratna Hotel Biratnagar. Training was organized jointly by Srot Bikas Kendra (RDC) Nepal and SOLVE-Nepal, in collaboration with Canedian Cooperation Office (CCO) and Karuna Center for Peace Building, USA. Resource persons had come from Karuna Center for Peace Building, USA. They were Dr. Paula Green and Olivia Stokes Dreier. Around Two dozens of active members of civil society from different part of the nation were participated in the program. On behalf of Equal Acceess Nepal we three Bikash Koirala, Jiwan Sharma and I were participated. As a radio program maker on broad bigger theme such as constitution assembly, constitutional process the training seemed to be effective for me.

Suklafanta FM 94.4 Mhz has started its test tranmission from mid December 2006. It is first FM station located in Mahendranagar, Kanchanpur. The nature of the station is community. In order to run the radio station in their own community 28 local people have collected the required money to establish radio station. Now they are radio people themselves running their own community radio. The license holder of the station is Forum for Local Development initiated and coordinated by Rishi Raj Lumsali ex DDC chairman of Kanchanpur District.

Community Radio Solu FM is one of the effective means to disseminate right information in right time to the community of southern Solukhumbu. The license holder of station is Young Star Club, a reputed local Non Governmental Organization located in Salleri VDC – 7 Dorpubazar. This station has started its first broadcast on 2004 August with the financial support of DIALOGOS, an NGO of Denmark.
