Strike(Nepal Banda) called by UCPN Maoist on Sunday (6th December) crippled life all over Nepal. UCPN-M has announced number of protest programs effective from November 22 Sunday strike was not listed on their schedule. Party has decided to call this as soon as dispute between internal refugees and police in Kailali, far-west district left four people dead including one police personnel on Friday. In order to make Banda successful Maoist cadres vandalized number of vehicles in Kathmandu and other part of the country.

(13) 18 Dec 09- Madesh (Abadh, Bhojpura, Mithila);

(14) 20, 21& 22 Dec- Nationwide General Strike;

(15) 23 Dec Onwards- Indefinite General Strike if their demands were not addressed.

'Tarai Mukti Morcha' (TMM) has announced series of protest programs to mark their third anniversary as follows:
(1) 03 to 14 Dec09- Mass mobilization;

(2) 15 to 22 Dec09- National Flag Burning;

(3) 23 to 28 Dec 09- Removal of Nepal Sambat Era;

(4) 29 Dec 09 to 07 Jan10- Campaigning in Terai;

(5) 08 Jan10- Torch Rally;

(6) 09 Jan 10- Terai Bandh and protest.

'The Koshi Flood Victims' who were displaced from three VDCs of Sunsari district in B.S. 2022 (1965 AD) made public their protest programs putting forward 04-point demands. Their protests include:
(1) 06 -08 Dec- Shut down Chatara Main Canal;

(2) 18 Dec- Halt traffic movement at Jhumka for 03 Hrs;

(3) 02 Jan- Chakka Jam at Jumka;

(4) 08 Jan Onwards- Indefinite Chakka Jam along East-West highway.

d. 'All Nepal Trade Union Federation, Kochila State Committee' has announced additional protest programs to further intensify the protest of UCPN-Maoists, demanding 'Civilian Supremacy', establishment of join national government and workers' friendly constitution among others. Their protest includes:

(1) 04 - 07 Dec- Corner meet and assemblies;

(2) 08 Dec- Nationwide torch rallies;

(3) 09 Dec- Nationwide transportation and industries strike.

e. 'Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Yadav) has announced 'Mass Gathering' programme to inform Madhesi people on current fragile political situation, present government's failure to address Madhesi causes, and other political parties view towards Madhesi cause. The schedule of Mass Gathering is as follows:

(1) 05 Dec- Biratnagar (Districts: Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari and Saptari);

(2) 10 Dec- Birgunj (Districts: Bara, Parsa , Rautahat ,Chitwan, Makawanpur);

(3) 11 Dec- Janakpur (Districts :Siraha, Udayapur, Dhanusha, Mahottari, Sarlahi and Sindhuli);

(4) 13 Dec- Kapilvastu (Districts : Nawalparasi ,Rupandehi,Kapilvastu);

(5) 17 Dec- Nepalgunj ( Districts : Banke, Bardiya, Dang ,Kailali , Kanchanpur and Surkhet).

One and only comedy FM radio –Radio Audio—in Kathmandu celebrates its 3rd anniversary on 5th December. To celebrate Radio Audio's birth day number of comedians were gathered at the premises of Radio Audio in Banseswor. Versatile comedian Hari Bansa Acharya told in function that Radio Audio is doing its best giving comedian forum to express their talents. This is one and only radio station in Nepal takes comedy in most priority to let people live their life tension free and make them happy even despite number of challenges and frustrations are being experienced, he told. During the function other popular comedians Dipak Raj Giri, Dipashree Niroula, Jitu Nepal, Kunjana Ghimire and Sitaram Kattel thanked Radio Audio for providing comedians opportunity to talk to people directly via radio. Deependra Khaniya, Managing Director of Radio Audio expressed his gratitude to all those comedian who consider Radio Audio their own FM radio. Deependra, young radio journalist had started Radio Audio's operation in Kathmandu three years ago.
