After being four days away from Kathmandu I returned today afternoon and attended a 'Social Media Surgery' organized together by B.P. Koirala Yuba Netritwa Bikash Manch and Equal Access in Kathmandu. Son and wife are gone to Biratnagar so I am alone homed now. I had gone to Bara on Sunday where I attended a District Project Advisory Committee (DPAC) meeting of Youth & Security project that is being implemented by the civil society consortium of International Alert, Youth Action Nepal and Equal Access Nepal since 3 years. This 3-year project is being implemented in 4 districts namely Kathmandu, Dang, Bara & Sunsari. DPAC is one of government provision that NGO should conduct in every project district. DPAC reviews the past performance of NGO's activities and suggests for future activities. DPAC is comprised of high-level district officers of Nepal government, Civil Society leaders and beneficiary. DPAC happens in regular interval - generally two time in a year.

Informal sitting with local friend of Birgunj Mr. Manoj has helped me get sense what the security situation of Birgunj is after SP Ramesh Kharel's tenure in Parsa. While he talks about situation after SP was handed over command as district police chief, situation got absolutely changed which has contributed assurance for people with high level of security & freedom to movement and to business. Manoj express his sincere thanks to SP Kharel for being 'GOD' for them in terms of providing general pubic with confidence of being safe and secure in spite of many challenges for years. No even single event with intend to criminal activities has been happened after SP Kharel being chief of Parsa district police. If something happens Kharel will be there in minutes to control over situation. That's why he has gain social respect from general public from Parsa. He has gain reputation from business community. Despite facing awkward treatment from senior politicians and criminal minds he has gain high level of faith from society so that none of the politicians are able to transfer his job to other district though they attempted many times. People says whatever he is doing he is doing with high moral and his activities are under the law of Nepal government that's why despite hardship he has support from general public and media.

Radio Makawanpur, Hetauda is entered in to it's 4 years of operation. It's semi popular radio station among many FMs operating in Hetauda for years. Led by the group of enthusiastic youth the team looks like they are creative in program making. They often interact with listeners get listeners sense on the programs that radio produces. Meaning they love to be participatory. When I make my visit to Hetauda I am invited by MD, station manager and team of producers/presenter share my experience about radio program making and hear them the challenges if they being a radio people are experiencing. I assume sharing own challenges to other also give people opportunity to get relief from them. It also the way to seek some way out from seniors. Again this time I am invited to share food with them which was arranged at the best Thakali Kitchen in Hetauda where I love to go. My good friend Sushil Pokharel, who is also the chair of the Board of Radio, leads ICT related company Susmit International in Kathmandu, who had been called by me from Birgunj on same day morning insisted me to interact with them like I did previously. Though I had to reach Souraha Chitawan to attend training program starting following day I had plan in mind that I should enter the radio to make me assured that they are broadcasting Radio Program Naya Nepal which EAN produces. Naya Nepal is given FM stations to broadcast it via their transmission. After the food my friend Bishnu Khatri who was also travelling with me gave some context on the youth & migration which was liked by producers and managers of radio as topic itself was found to be new for them. I also briefly talked about changing trends and techniques of radio production. I added on my current works about social media with special focus on how traditional media get benefit from the use of new media in my one way presentation. I like to do that whenever I get the audience. It's my passion and I have many things to share with people who want to be benefited by the opportunities that social media has offered us.

Visiting Radio Chitawan, Tandi gave me some time to interact with Amrita Mainali who is a Media trainer trained under the project that, on behalf of Equal Access International, I am implementing in Nepal. We came up with some ideas how to do the follow up training and by when. Bishnu also phoned Police Inspector based on Police training center chitawan to make sure that Inspector would come to facilitate session in the training 'Youth, Public Security and Justice & Gender.

Three days training on Youth, Security and Gender' in Souraha, Chitwan was joint initiative of three organization however it was administratively organized by Youth Action Nepal in which I had to facilitate few sessions. Training is participated by mix of participants representing different sectors ranges from political youth to media to social workers and student leaders. After doing sessions on Media, Advocacy, Conflict Sensitivity and advocacy messaging I returned back from the training and reach Kathmandu by afternoon and as soon as I arrived KTM I joined the Social Media Surgery that held today in Kathmandu.
